BC Partners backed GardaWorld acquires WorldAware from LLR

GardaWorld Security Corporation, a portfolio company of BC Partners, has acquired WorldAware from LLR Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed.

WorldAware will be combined with Crisis24, a GardaWorld Company to create a premier industry player in integrated security risk management.

The transaction closed Friday, July 10 and the integration of the business will take place in the coming months. Until the completion of the integration, WorldAware and Crisis24 will continue to operate under their respective brands and technologies.

Annapolis, Maryland based WorldAware, formerly known as iJET International, is a leading security risk management firm operating from offices in Annapolis, London, UK, Cape Town, South Africa, and Singapore.

LLR Partners completed a recap of iJET in December 2013.

Montreal based GardaWorld is the largest privately owned security services and cash services company in the world, offering physical security services, end-to-end cash management solutions and security risk management.

In October 2019, BC Partners along with Stephan Crétier, founder Chairman and CEO of GardaWorld, completed the recapitalization of GardaWorld for US $5.2 billion from previous majority shareholder Rhône Capital.

BC Partners holds a 51% common equity interest in GardaWorld while Stephan Crétier and select members of management hold 49% interest.
