CCMP’s Jamieson Laboratories acquires Body Plus

Jamieson Laboratories, a portfolio company of CCMP Capital Advisors, has acquired Body Plus Nutritional Products Inc. from founder Norm Danniels. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Toronto based Body Plus is a manufacturer and marketer of innovative natural health and sports nutrition supplements in Canada. Body Plus is well known for Progressive nutritional therapies, Precision sports supplements and the Iron Vegan brands. The company also includes Sonoma Nutraceuticals, a well-established manufacturer of private label supplements.

Body Plus will continue to operate independently with support from the Jamieson.

Houlihan Lokey, Andrew Durnford of White Point Capital and Bank of Montreal acted as financial advisors on this transaction.

Established in 1922, Jamieson Laboratories is Canada’s number one manufacturer and marketer of vitamin, mineral and natural health supplements.

CCMP Capital Advisors acquired Jamieson Laboratories from founder Eric Margolis for reportedly over $300 million in 2014. CCMP was reportedly seeking as much as US $1 billion in the sale of the company last year.
