Jiffy Raises $2.4 Million to Expand Hassle-Free Home Maintenance Service
Company disrupts home maintenance by bringing on-demand marketplace to consumers and service pros
TORONTO and BOSTON, Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Jiffy on Demand, provider of the service platform that connects home maintenance and repair professionals to the on-the-go homeowner, today announced that it has raised an additional $2.4 million (U.S.) in funding. Golden Venture Partners led the round, with additional participation from notable investors including Hedgewood and Two Small Fish Ventures.
Jiffy will use the funding to support platform development, marketing initiatives and geographic growth, including U.S. expansion. The Toronto-based company recently launched in Boston, with additional North American cities in the pipeline for 2018.
“Boston is at the head of the pack when it comes to hard-working, tech savvy consumers and our platform is perfectly suited to serve the demand of their busy lifestyles,” said Ryan Shupak, co-founder and CEO of Jiffy. “The area’s regular need for property and yard maintenance due to seasonal changes along with the challenge of finding a reliable trade professional on the fly also presents an opportunity to serve an unmet need.”
Jiffy makes it easy for consumers to take care of the nagging home repair to-do list by allowing them to instantly book same day service from top-rated professionals. The platform brings instant home maintenance to consumers by enabling them to bypass the process of having to scour reviews, obtain quotes or worry about poor quality service. Jiffy vets each home maintenance professional and backs all work with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
“Jiffy is in a unique position to capitalize on the massive market opportunity to advance home maintenance in a way that hasn’t been explored before,” said Bert Amato, partner, Golden Venture Partners. “The company has created a meaningful and highly-desirable product on both sides of the value chain, where both consumers and home service professionals can win.”
Jiffy is free to consumers and brings significant value to trade professionals with time and money saved on marketing, travelling and closing leads with more opportunities to build their business through local jobs. The company also sets a predetermined average rate for each type of service provided, allowing for full transparency on price and eliminating the back and forth with quotes from service professionals. Jiffy streamlines job offers, communications with customers and optimizes work schedules while removing the burden of marketing and chasing leads for service pros.
