SeaFort’s Cooper continues expansion with Prime Rentals acquisition

CPE Media News (3/4/2019) – Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited, a portfolio company of SeaFort Capital, has acquired Prime Rentals Ltd. from owners, Kim and Trina Tymko. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Established in 1979 and with two locations in Lethbridge and nearby Taber, Alberta. Prime Rentals provide complete equipment rental solutions.

Established in 1972, Cooper is the leading independent Canadian full-service construction equipment rental company, servicing contractors throughout Ontario and in parts of Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia.

In 2013, SeaFort Capital, a multi-family office based in Halifax, acquired a majority stake from Cooper family.

Prime Rentals is the eighth add-on acquisition under SeaFort ownership. Prior acquisitions include Star Rentals Ltd. (2019), Modern Industrial Rentals (2018), Alberta Lift (2017), 4-Way Equipment Rentals (2017), SMS Rentals (2015), Albion Equity Rentals (2014), City Rentals (2013).

Cooper Equipment Rentals Announces Acquisition of Prime Rentals

TORONTO, March 4, 2019 /CNW/ – Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited (“Cooper”), the leading independent equipment rental company in Canada, announced today that it has acquired Prime Rentals Ltd. (“Prime Rentals”).

Prime Rentals has two locations in Lethbridge and nearby Taber, Alberta. Prime was established in 1979, and over the past several decades has developed a reputation for reliable, value-added service and has established a loyal base of customers that rely on the company to provide complete equipment rental solutions. Kim and Trina Tymko, the owners of Prime, will assist us in ensuring a smooth transition of the acquisition over the next several months.
