Nicoya Lifesciences secures $2M financing

Nicoya Lifesciences has reportedly raised $2 million in funding led by Ripple Ventures and the Golden Triangle Angel Network (GTN). Other investors include MaRS IAF, BDC Capital, Garage Capital, Angel One, Maple Leaf Angels, Innovation Grade Ventures, Laurier Startup Fund, University of Waterloo Student Venture Fund and Waterloo Alumni Angels.

Kitchener, Ontario based Nicoya Lifesciences is a nanotechnology company. OpenSPR, Nicoya’s flagship product, is the world’s first personal SPR instrument. Using proprietary nanotechnology sensors, it provides powerful label-free molecular analysis in a compact, easy to use, and affordable package.

Nicoya Lifesciences intends to use new funding for new product development and expand sales and marketing.
