Northstar Scaffold Services Inc., a portfolio company of Andover Capital Corporation, has acquired Sky-Hi Scaffold Ltd., a leading B.C. based scaffolding services company.

The combined company will create a national scaffold service provider that employs over 200 people in 6 branches with the ability to service customers across Canada.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Jon throughout this process. I look forward to being involved as we integrate and grow the business in the coming years. I have been with Sky-Hi since 1978 and owned the company since 1993. It is encouraging that Sky-Hi will continue under the direction of the team at Northstar,” said Kevin Lottis, former owner of Sky-Hi Scaffolding Ltd.

“Kevin has built a fantastic team at Sky-Hi with a reputation for industry leading customer service and a dedicated focus on safety, both values we share at Northstar,” said Jonathan McCain, president of Northstar. “We look forward to working together to continue to grow towards our goal of becoming the leading scaffold and shoring provider in Canada.”

PricewaterhouseCoopers acted as advisor to Sky-Hi. MNP LLP and Miller Thomson provided transaction advisory services to Northstar.

Established in 1967, Winnipeg based Northstar Scaffold Services Inc. is one of the largest independent scaffolding and shoring providers in Canada. Northstar’s services include equipment rental, sales, erection and dismantling. The company employs over 200 people in 6 branches across Canada.

Toronto based Andover Capital is a privately-held investment and holding company controlled by Jonathan McCain. Andover typically seeks to make control-equity investments in mid-market Canadian companies.
