Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P. has hired Andrew Claerhout as a Partner. Claerhout, together with existing Searchlight Partner Darren Glatt, will lead Searchlight infrastructure investments.
Claerhout joins Searchlight from The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he has been a Senior Advisor. Prior to BCG, Claerhout held positions with Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, was Senior Managing Director, Infrastructure & Natural Resources at time of leaving OTPP in February 2018. Prior to joining OTPP in 2005, Claerhout was Vice President with EdgeStone Capital Partners.
Claerhout is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario with an HBA degree.

New York – Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P. (“Searchlight” or “the Firm”), a leading global private investment firm, announced today the appointment of Andrew Claerhout as a Partner. Andrew Claerhout, together with existing Searchlight Partner Darren Glatt, will be leading infrastructure investments for the Firm.
Mr. Claerhout brings over two decades of experience to his new role and joins the firm having spent nearly 13 years at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, most recently as Head of Infrastructure and Natural Resources. In this role Mr. Claerhout was responsible for acquisitions and managing over US$18 billion of investments around the world in the transport & logistics, energy & power, water & waste and social infrastructure sectors. Mr. Claerhout was also responsible for establishing and leading the London Office of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and developing Private Capital’s strategy in EMEA.
Mr. Glatt has been at Searchlight for seven years and has deep expertise in a variety of sectors, including communications and digital infrastructure, which Searchlight believes is an attractive area for investments. Mr. Glatt will continue to be involved in the Firm’s private equity investments in media and other sectors.
