Berkshire Partners and GI Partners backed Access acquires Innovative Records System

Access, a portfolio company of Berkshire Partners and GI Partners, through Access Information Management of Canada, ULC, has acquired Innovative Records System Corp. effective April 24, 2018. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Innovative Records Systems Corp. is a privately owned Ontario corporation, formed from the amalgamation of six operating entities: BC Records Management, Calgary Archives, Crown Store-All, Phoenix Recycling Inc., FileBank Record Centres and Docu Guard.

Berkshire Partners acquired Access in October 2014. In September 2017, GI Partners become co-lead investor in Access with Berkshire Partners.

Woburn, Massachusetts based Access is the largest privately-held provider of records and information management services in North America. The company offers a complete suite of storage and related services, such as inventory management, digital access solutions, secure destructions, and compliance services.

Innovative Records System Corp. Sells to Access Information Management of Canada, ULC

TORONTO, May 17, 2018 /CNW/ – Innovative Records System Corp. (IRSC – www.irsg.ca) is pleased to announce the sale of IRSC to Access Information Management of Canada, ULC (Access – www.informationprotected.com) effective April 24, 2018. Former IRSC (now Access) operating personnel will be ensuring continuity of service for our ~6,000 customers across Canada.
