CPE News (5.13.2022) – Arctic Glacier, LLC, a portfolio company of Carlyle Global Partners, has acquired North Star Ice Limited.
The transaction closed on April 29, 2022 pending final approval from all regulators and customary closing requirements. Financial term were not disclosed.
London, Ontario based North Star Ice is a third generation family business founded by Ross Smibert in 1954.
Founded in 1996, Arctic Glacier is a leading producer, marketer and distributor of high-quality packaged ice to consumers in the United States and Canada, primarily under the brand name of Arctic Glacier Premium Ice. Arctic Glacier is a parent company of Arctic Glacier Canada Inc. and Arctic Glacier U.S.A., Inc.
In March 2017, Carlyle Global Partners, The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG)’s long-duration investment fund, acquired Arctic Glacier from H.I.G. Capital and its existing shareholders.
