Egis to acquire McIntosh Perry from Signal Hill

CPE News (6.27.2023) – Egis has entered into an agreement to acquire McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers Ltd. and its subsidiaries, including Beam, Longest and Neff, LLC (BLN), from Signal Hill Equity Partners and other shareholders. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The transaction is expected to close in early July 2023, subject to customary closing conditions.

The acquisition, upon completion, will mark, a major milestone in Egis’ expansion into North America.

McIntosh Perry is a renowned North American engineering services firm headquartered in Toronto, specializing in public infrastructure, buildings and energy. With over seven decades of experience, McIntosh Perry has established itself as an award-winning consulting firm in Canada and in the US, through its subsidiary Beam, Longest & Neff (BLN).

McIntosh Perry merged with BLN, a third-generation engineering company founded in 1945 and based in Indiana, Indianapolis, in 2021.

Signal Hill Equity Partners acquired McIntosh Perry in 2009.

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Paris), France based Egis is a global player in consulting, construction engineering and mobility services.

Egis is owned by Tikehau Capital (40%), Caisse des Dépôts (34%) and its partner managers and employees (26%).

EGIS EXPANDS INTO NORTH AMERICA WITH THE MAJOR ACQUISITION OF MCINTOSH PERRY, A LEADING ENGINEERING CONSULTING FIRM OPERATING IN CANADA AND THE US

Toronto, Ontario, June 26th , 2023

Egis, a global player in consulting, construction engineering and mobility services, and 40% owned by Tikehau Capital, the global alternative asset management group, entered into an agreement to acquire McIntosh Perry, a renowned North American engineering services firm headquartered in Toronto, specialising in public infrastructure, buildings and energy. With over seven decades of experience, McIntosh Perry has established itself as an award-winning consulting firm in Canada and in the US, through its subsidiary BLN. This acquisition, upon completion, will mark, a major milestone in Egis’ expansion into North America.

With a team of 800 engineers, project managers, and technicians spread across 21 offices in North America, McIntosh Perry will act as the North American platform for Egis. The complementary service offerings of both companies will facilitate remarkable growth and strong presence in the region. Together, they will provide comprehensive end to end engineering solutions to clients, emphasizing sustainability and innovation, at every stage of the project lifecycle.

Egis is already working on seven of ‘Canada’s Top100 Infrastructure Projects’, including the GO Rail Expansion program in Ontario, and the rehabilitation of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel in Montreal. Additionally, they are working on the California High-Speed Rail in the United States. With this acquisition, Egis will bring expertise in rail systems, systems integration, underground structures, digitalisation and more. Furthermore, through their architecture subsidiaries, Weston Williamson + Partners and SB Architects based in North America, they will provide additional upstream design, planning and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD/TOC) services.
