Fairfax names Peter Clarke new President

Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (TSX: FFH, FFH.U) has named Peter S. Clarke, formerly VP & Chief Operating Officer, as its new President.

Paul Rivett, Fairfax former President, retired in February 2020.

Clarke, a member of Fairfax’s Executive and Investment Committees, will continue in his role as COO.

Prior to assuming the COO position, Clarke has held various positions, including Senior Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer and VP & Chief Risk Officer, with Hamblin Watsa
Investment Counsel Ltd.

Fairfax is a holding company which, through its subsidiaries, is primarily engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and the associated investment management.

EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCEMENT

TORONTO, February 10, 2022

Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (TSX: FFH and FFH.U) is pleased to announce that Peter Clarke has been appointed President of Fairfax.

Over the past 20 years, Peter has held the position of Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Actuary. He is a member of Fairfax’s Executive and Investment Committees, and he will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer.
