CPE News (3/30/2021) – eStruxture, a portfolio company of Fengate Asset Management, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Canderel, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire all eight Canadian data centers from Aptum Technologies, a portfolio company of Digital Colony.

eStruxture acquired the eight data centres, five in Toronto, two in Montreal and one in Vancouver, along with all customers and employees associated with the colocation business from Aptum.

With the addition of the new facilities, eStruxture will operate a total of 14 facilities across Canada, increasing its total footprint to over 600,000 square feet of combined data center space and a total IT capacity of 100 megawatts. The newly acquired data centers offer both central and edge locations, are scalable, sustainably designed, and highly connected.

In May 2020, Aptum sold its WAN business, to Beanfield Metroconnect, another portfolio company of Digitial Colony, to focus on growing its data center and hybrid multi-cloud solution offerings.

EDIT: Aptum will remain a Network Services Provider to eStruxture and customers across all the Canadian facilities providing 100G, monitored and managed network services. The company continues to focus on and grow its core hybrid multi-cloud managed service offerings. This transaction does not include or impact Aptum’s data centers in the United States or the United Kingdom.
