Fonds de solidarité, IQ and EDC back District M and Sharethrough merger

CPE News (2/10/2021) – District M and Sharethrough have entered into definitive merger agreement to form “one of the largest independent omnichannel ad exchanges.”

With a team of over 140 employees cross 8 offices in US and Canada, the combined company, to be named in the next few weeks, will focus on accelerating product roadmap and bringing enhanced ads concepts to new formats and devices including instream and CTV.

The combined company will merge the two ad exchanges into Sharethrough Exchange. Jean-François Côté, President, CEO & co-founder of District M will become CEO of the combined company and Dan Greenberg, founding CEO of Sharethrough, will become President of the combined company.

To fund the combined company growth plan, District M secured CDN $19 million in Series C funding from principal shareholder Fonds de solidarité FTQ ($7 million), existing investor Investissement Québec (IQ) ($7 million), and new investor Export and Development Canada (EDC) ($5 million).
