Foreign venture capital investments accounted more than half (54.7%) of total Canadian venture capital disbursements in first half of 2017, CPE Media inaugural first half of 2107 VC report reveals.
USA, China, Singapore, Netherlands and Switzerland were the top 5 ranked foreign countries investing and backing Canadian companies.
To put foreign investment’s significance in perspective, every VC dollar raised by Canadian companies, 55 cents came from foreign investors with almost 40 cents from USA alone. In comparison, only 45 cents came from Canadian investors.
