Framework Venture Partners holds initial close for Fund II

CPE News (1.13.2022) – Framework Venture Partners has held an initial close for its sophomore fund Framework Venture Partners II. The firm has yet to announce how much it raised in the initial close which held in December 2021.

Fund II will be led by GPs, Peter Misek, Ajay Gopal, Jean-Michel (Jim) Texier. Andrew Lugsdin, co-founder and GP of Fund I, is not listed as GP for the fund. Texier joined Framework in September 2021.

Launched in 2018 by Misek and Lugsdin, formerly IT investment team at BDC Capital, Fund I, with a goal of $150 million, secured $100 million in February 2019 with $50 million commitments from BDC Capital and matching $50 million from Cadillac Fairview, Royal Bank of Canada, and the BC Tech Fund.

Toronto based Framework Venture Partners is a venture capital firm focusing on companies re-imagining everyday financial services applications or applying artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to large industry-specific datasets.
