CPE Media News (2/21/2019) – Platinum Equity has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Livingston International from Sterling Partners and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Financial terms were not disclosed.
Established in 1945 by Gerry Livingston, Toronto based Livingston is an international trade-services firm specializing in customs brokerage, freight forwarding and trade consulting.
Livingston was acquired by CAI Capital Corporation, Teachers’ Retirement Allowances Fund (TRAF) of Manitoba, and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) in November 1997 and listed the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) through an initial public offering (IPO) in February 2002.
Sterling Partners along with CPPIB took Livingston private in January 2010 in a deal valued at $324.4 million. Since then, Livingston has made numerous add-on acquisitions.

Platinum Equity to Acquire Customs Brokerage and Trade Services Firm Livingston International
Los Angeles (February 21, 2019) – Platinum Equity announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Livingston International. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Livingston is an international trade-services firm based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which specializes in customs brokerage, freight forwarding and trade consulting. It holds the distinction of being Canada’s largest customs broker and third-largest entry filer in the United States.
