CPE News (5/4/2021) – Precision AI has raised $20 million in seed equity and grant funding led by At One Ventures and BDC Capital, with participation from Fulcrum Global Capital and Golden Opportunities Fund. Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) and Protein Industries Canada provided the non-dilutive grant funding.
Precision AI did not disclose the breakdown of equity and grant funding. The grant funding from SDTC and Protein Industries Canada closed in 2020 and was reportedly substantial.
At One Ventures’ Laurie Menoud, BDC Capital’s Joe Regan and Fulcrum Global Capital’s Kevin Lockett will join Precision AI board of directors.

Precision AI raises $20 million to reduce the chemical footprint of agriculture

Herbicide spraying is one of the least efficient agricultural activities, with over 80 percent wasted on bare ground and another 15 percent falling on the crop. While competitors have focused on high-value, low acreage crops, Precision AI’s disruptive approach to drone swarming allows for application on large acreage crops at a much lower cost than traditional large farming machinery.
