PSP Investments to acquire 32% stake in Wittur from Bain Capital

CPE Media News (1/2/2019) – Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) has agreed to acquire a 32% stake in The Wittur Group from Bain Capital Private Equity.

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2019. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1968, Wittur is one of the world’s leading independent elevator components manufacturers with an extensive global manufacturing footprint and sales network and a broad range of products.

Bain Capital Private Equity acquired 100% ownership of Wittur from Triton and Capvis in 2014. Under Bain Capital Private Equity ownership, Wittur acquired Sematic Group from The Carlyle Group (NASDAQ: CG) and the Zappa family, with Carlyle and the Zappa family retaining a stake in the combined entity.

Wittur Group announces new investor

Wiedenzhausen, Germany, December 28, 2018 17:58 UTC – The Wittur Group (ISIN: XS1188024548, XS1188025438) announced today that Canada’s Public Sector Pension Investment Board (“PSP Investments”) has entered into an agreement to acquire a 32% stake in a parent company of Wittur International Holding GmbH from a company controlled by Bain Capital Private Equity. The Canadian pension fund will closely cooperate with Bain Capital Private Equity as sponsor and trusted partner to further bolster Wittur’s international expansion. As usual, the transaction is subject to certain closing conditions including the approval of the antitrust authorities. The closing of the transaction is expected in Q1 2019. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the agreement.
