Save Da Sea Foods secures seed financing

CPE News Brief (5.2.2024) – Save Da Sea Inc. has reportedly raised $650,000 in seed funding from BDC Thrive Lab, What If Ventures Inc., Spring Activator, and YSpace of York University (source: betakit).

BDC Thrive Lab is a collaborative co-investment vehicle aiming to provide $100 million in equity and equity-like investments to women-led businesses. Spring Activator, and YSpace are two of Thrive Lab’s 26 co-investment partners.

Founded by Aki Kaltenbach, Victoria, BC based Save Da Sea’s mission is “to create a world where 100% of our seafood comes from plants.” Save Da Sea’s sustainable plant-based smoked salmon is made from simple ingredients that convincingly mimic the taste and texture of cold smoked salmon.
