Thoma Bravo recaps Norwest Venture Partners and Georgian backed Cority

Thoma Bravo, LLC has acquired a majority stake in Cority. Previous majority shareholder Norwest Venture Partners will continue to retain a significant stake in the business and will re-invest over half of its proceeds. Minority shareholder Georgian Partners will also re-invest a portion of its existing investment in the business, and continue to advise the company in the area of applied analytics.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In March 2016, Norwest Venture Partners led investment group, including Georgian Partners and BMO Financial Group, acquired a majority stake in Cority, formerly Medgate Inc. for an undisclosed amount. According to an industry association’s 2016 sneak preview report, the deal was valued at $150 million.

Cority Announces New Growth Investment with Thoma Bravo as Majority Investor

New investment from Thoma Bravo reaffirms Cority’s status as the trusted provider of environmental, health, safety and quality (EHSQ) software

Toronto, ON — May 28, 2019—Cority, the trusted provider of environmental, health, safety and quality (EHSQ) software, has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Thoma Bravo, LLC, in which the leading private equity investment firm will own a majority stake in the company. Previous majority investor Norwest Venture Partners will continue to retain a significant stake in the business and will re-invest over half of its proceeds.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of June 2019 subject to customary closing conditions.
