TimePlay raises $8 million in Series A funding
Mobile interactive company will use funds to continue expansion into the U.S.
TORONTO – August 25, 2017 – TimePlay — the world leader in multi-player interactive experiences — announces that it has closed its first tranche of series A financing, raising C$8 million from accredited investors, with Cranson Capital Securities acting as agent. TimePlay currently leverages its relationship with Cineplex – one of Canada’s leading entertainment and media companies – and operates on over 725 screens at its theatres across the country to enhance and improve the guest experience of its Pre Show. TimePlay will be using a portion of the funds to expand its cinema business in the U.S. and worldwide as well as pursue new verticals. TimePlay recently signed an agreement with Screenvision Media, a leading cinema media company in the US.
TimePlay’s platform allows consumers to interact with the big screen in real-time using their smartphones. It delivers engaging two-way interactive content and partner rewards to consumers.
