Xplornet Communications Inc., Canada’s leading rural broadband service provider, has agreed to acquire from Vecima Networks Inc. of all YourLink Internet services operations in Saskatchewan for $28.75 million.
The asset acquisition transaction is contemplated in two closings, the first of which is scheduled to occur by the end of this week for $20 million. The final closing of $8.75 million is expected to occur before the end of Q2 calendar 2017.
This is the second Yourlink asset purchase by Xplornet. In December 2011 and April 2012, Xplornet acquire a portion of YourLink’s 3.5GHz radio spectrum licenses for $15.3 million.
Xplornet Communications is backed by Sandler Capital, McKenna Gale Capital, Werlund Capital.
