Bridgit has officially announced the closing of $2 million in additional seed funding led by Stand Up Ventures and MaRS IAF with participation of Canadian and US private investors.

Bridgit secured $2.2 million initial seed funding from Hyde Park Venture Partners and Vanedge Capital in 2016. Round 13 Capital joined as an investor early this year.

“StandUp Ventures is pleased to invest in Bridgit,” said Michelle McBane, Investment Director of MaRS IAF and StandUp Ventures. “Today Bridgit is used by hundreds of contractors across Canada and the U.S. We’re excited to support the team as they continue to transform the construction industry in markets around the world.”

Co-founded by Mallorie Brodie and Lauren Lake, Bridgit is a Canadian software company focused on developing mobile-first solutions for the construction industry. Bridgit’s construction software simplifies communication and site management for developers, general contractors, and subcontractors.

Bridgit intends to use new funding to enhance its product and drive growth in new markets.

“In 2017, we ramped up our development efforts, increasing the number of releases by nearly 300%,” explained Brodie, Bridgit co-founder and CEO. “This funding will help us move faster, and deliver more value to our users.”

Bridgit’s product saw some major enhancements in 2017, including the launch of an Android app and a data-driven feature called Project Insights. “This is just the beginning,” Brodie confirmed. “New product modules are on the horizon, which the industry hasn’t seen before.”
