NVP and Georgian backed Medgate acquires regAction

Medgate Inc., a provider of enterprise-grade, SaaS-based Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management solutions, has acquired regAction, Inc., a Houston, Texas based environmental compliance management SaaS provider. Finnacial terms were not disclosed.

regAction serves clients in heavy asset industries with an impressive roster of clients in chemicals, refining, public utilities, pipelines, terminal operations, exploration and production, oilfield services, and manufacturing.

regAction was founded in 1997 as a spin-off of the Central US offices of ICF Kaiser Engineering. The regAction leadership team has been in place since the founding.

On March 23, 2016, Toronto based Medgate announced a large strategic investment led by the growth equity team at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP). Norwest was joined by Georgian Partners and BMO Financial Group. Financial terms were not disclosed at the time. Medgate deal was valued at $150 million, according to CVCA’s 2016 top 10 deal list released on January 16, 2017.
