Union Square Ventures leads Top Hat’s $22.5M Series C

Top Hat, the interactive, cloud-based teaching platform provider, has officially announced the closing of US $22.5 million or CDN $29.6 millionin Series C financing.

New investor Union Square Ventures led the financing with $7.5 million. Existing investors Emergence Capital, Georgian Partners, iNovia Capital, Golden Venture Partners, Version One Ventures, SoftTech VC, and private investors, also participated in the financing.

Albert Wenger, partner at Union Square Ventures, has joined Top Hat’s board of directors.

Funded by angel investors, Top Hat has previously raised $8 million in Series A in 2012 and $10 million in Series B in 2014.
